This site is operated by Ronald Sypolt III, doing business as SyniRon Labs, from Maryland, USA.

What data we collect

  • Email correspondence you initiate. If you send us an email (e.g. to [email protected]), we receive your email address and message contents. We retain these for as long as needed to respond and for ordinary business recordkeeping — typically up to 7 years for tax and recordkeeping purposes.
  • Aggregated analytics, with no personally identifiable information. These may include a count of distinct app installations, using an anonymous identifier stored on your device. See "Analytics" below.
  • Synced app data, if you subscribe to sync in one of our apps: the data you enter in the app and what it works out from it, your sign-in details, and your subscription status. See "Sync" below.

What we don't do

We do not sell, rent, or share your email address or correspondence with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Cookies

SyniRon Labs does not use cookies for advertising or user tracking.

Analytics

We use Umami, a privacy-respecting analytics tool we self-host, to count visits. No cookies, no third-party sharing, no PII.

To count distinct installations of an app, rather than only raw visits, the analytics may store a persistent, random, anonymous identifier on your device. It is not a cookie; it lives in the app's local storage or preferences. It carries no personally identifiable information, and it is not linked to you, a device fingerprint, or an account. We never share it with third parties.

Sync

Some of our apps offer sync as a paid subscription. Sync keeps your data on our server so every device you sign in on shows the same records. Without a subscription, what you enter in the app stays on your device.

The server holds three things:

  • the data you enter in the app and what the app works out from it, such as your fill-ups, your vehicles and your badges;
  • your sign-in details, which your sign-in provider passes to us, such as your email address;
  • your subscription status.

Google holds this data for us on Firebase, in the United States (region us-east1). Your sign-in details are held in the United States. Once a week we copy everything on the server to Cloudflare R2 and delete each copy after 28 days. The one email we send about your data, described below, goes through Mailgun (Sinch AB), which keeps your address for one day and stores no message content.

We store your synced data in readable form. It is not end-to-end encrypted, so we and Google can read it.

If you share a vehicle's log with someone by invitation, everyone on that log sees all of it, and you see what they add.

While you subscribe, the server keeps your data. If your subscription lapses, sync stops and the server keeps your data for 12 months, so you can download it or resubscribe. 30 days before that period ends, we send one email to the address you signed in with, naming the day. At the end of the 12 months, the server deletes the data you entered and what the app worked out from it. Your sign-in details and your subscription status stay until you delete your account.

When you delete your account, every copy we hold, including Google's backups and the weekly copy on Cloudflare, is gone within 30 days. Google's own systems clear it within 180 days after that, under its data processing terms.

Payments

Payments, where applicable, are processed by Stripe. Their privacy practices are described in the Stripe Privacy Policy.

Your rights

You can request deletion of email correspondence by writing to [email protected].

If you subscribe to sync, you can delete your account from the app's sync section, or from the app's web version while signed in. You can also download your synced data from the app as a file for as long as the server holds it.
